Engineering Manager, based near Heathrow Airport. To provide operational support, leadership and management.
Key Responsibilities are: Ensure the correct operation, maintenance and repair of all M&E systems including but not exclusive to: LV Power & Distribution system, Diesel generators, UPSs, Chilled Water Plant, Air conditioning Systems ( VRV, VAV, DX & FCUs), elevators, BMS, CW & LPHW systems.
Provide leadership and ensure that engineering contractual commitments are met and exceeded. Ensuring business policies and processes are effectively communicated and implemented within the contract. Ensure the provision of healthy and safe working conditions and that both clients and Company health and safety policy and process is effectively implemented across the contract subcontractors activities, and are regularly review. Ensure optimum staffing structures operate across contracts, balancing cost reduction with the delivery of service excellence. Ensure structures support peaks and troughs in workload, and disaster recovery. Ensure contracts are staffed by fully competent teams, ensuring post holders are fully competent, and that effective succession planning arrangements are in place. Ensure appropriate control systems to ensure statutory, policy and contractual commitments are met.
Ensure that materials including spares, consumables, protective equipment, tools and facilities are available to maximise service responsiveness. This should reflect the balance of the investment of stores against delivery times Ensuring a customer focus within all areas of operational activities, and that effective relationships are maintained with key client contacts. Provision of leadership and guidance, advice, coaching and direct support, where required to deliver best practice selection, training, assessment and recognition*reward. Delivering effective business communication through advice, review, leadership and direct contribution to management and team meetings, briefings, consultation forums, correspondence, publicity, monthly and ad-hoc reporting and other publications, as appropriate. Provide a learning environment, and appropriate training and development planning. Ensure basic training needs are delivered, employees are fully competent to undertake their roles, and are able to reach their full future potential.
To be financially aware of main financial procedures: WIP, debt and cost reduction. Accountabilities 1 Reporting to a National Account Manager. 2 Accountable day-to-day to the relevant client contacts. 3 Line management responsibility for a contract team and for relevant sub-contractors. PERSON SPECIFICATION Education A good general education is essential, probably to ONC*HNC.
Training Incumbents must be able to demonstrate a career showing continuous personal development.
Up to date technical knowledge of ACOPs, fire and environmental control measures, electrical installation, building control requirements, and the Health and Safety at Work Act.
Experience [Essential] Senior Supervisor level within technical and*or hard services are essential.
Practical experience must include operation of LV power and distribution systems.
[Desirable] Delivery of wider facilities management services.
Aptitudes Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Numerate and computer literate.
Character Excellent motivational and influencing skills, with high levels of personal integrity
Has vision, and able to communicate this effectively. A role model for customer service excellence.
Analytical Creative Able to contribute effectively across all business activities. Politically astute.
Incumbents must have a high level of energy, be self- starters, confident and stable in manner.
Organised, able to prioritise and deliver within high pressure, business critical environments.
Circumstances Incumbents will be required to undertake overseeing of operational tests outside normal working hours and at weekends. Some overnight stays may be needed.
